First Week

What a fabulous week!  We have worked on procedures, expectations, and getting to know each other.  The students have also completed a couple of assessments to give me an idea of where to begin with them.  I have already been quite impressed with this group of students and look forward to the wonderful year that is in store.

There are a few tidbits that might be of interest to you:  First, students in my A.M. group will have P.E. on Tuesday and Thursday of each week.  Students in my P.M. group will have P.E. on Wednesday and Friday.  Second, I will not be sending an assigned snack list home.  However, you may send snacks to school anytime you would like.  I am discovering the students are getting quite hungry halfway through our morning class.  One of the parents and I have provided snacks for this week, but I welcome any others in the future. Finally, we are still in need of shoe boxes.  The boxes need to be from adult sized shoes as we are using them to store our supplies (ie: journal, vocabulary book, pencils, crayons, and clipboard).  We only need eight more boxes.

Several forms were sent home this week, and I am proud to say that I already have most of them returned.  Just as a reminder, there was a packet of forms from the front office that included forms such as emergency information, media release, chapel permission, etc. as well as two forms from me.  There was also a student handbook that went home in the Tuesday Folder (blue for the P.M. class and red for the A.M. class).  You need to sign and return the page that is marked in the book.

If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to contact me.  I look forward to working with your child this year.  It truly is going to be a great year!

Respectfully,
Mrs. Scrivener
